My New Year's Resolution for 2018
Midterms Study Tips
For many students, midterms can be a stressful time. From hours of reviewing notes to rereading chapters, midterms can easily lead to a lot of pressure and worry. Fortunately, there are many practices students can implement into their lives in the weeks leading up to exams to help them perform as well as possible.
Study Groups
Studying in a group with your classmates is a great way to prepare for an exam. By setting an arranged time for the study group to meet, you can avoid procrastination. Study groups also allow you to fill in the gaps in your knowledge and learn from the study methods of your peers.
Sleep
It can be tempting to cram in as much information as possible through all night study sessions. However, the truth is that getting a solid night of sleep is a lot more beneficial than skimping out on sleep to study. Sleep is a crucial part of functioning your best when taking a test, so it is important to get at least eight hours of sleep the night before test day.
Breaks
Studying for hours on end can cause you to be overwhelmed and stressed. Taking breaks in intervals throughout your study sessions can allow you to clear your mind and be more focused. Going for a walk, getting fresh air, or having a snack are all great examples of taking a break.
Everyone on the Sturgis StormWatch team sends Sturgis students our best wishes during midterms!
Sturgis Expands with New Community Center
The Sturgis campus is expanding. The William Sturgis Foundation has purchased 529 Main Street in Hyannis. The building will serve as a joint facility for Sturgis East and West. The building will host IB testing, school gatherings and be a center for the visual and performing arts. Through the new building, Sturgis hopes to bring its community even closer together.
In order to fund its new facility, Sturgis is asking for your support at the annual appeal. Sturgis is confident that the new facility will open up more opportunities for its community.
