On Friday, January 15, 2016, Sturgis held its annual grade 9 and 10 lottery. A record number of 687 students applied for next year's grade 9 class, an 18% increase over the previous high received in 2015. There were 87 Sturgis siblings for grade 9. 137 students applied for grade 10. There was also an increase in student applications from students in special populations, including special education, economically disadvantaged, and several ethnic/racial groups.
212 grade 9 students were accepted. Grade 10 students will be accepted starting in late February whenever a current grade 9 student withdraws. Students will be assigned to East or West campuses by lottery number according to their preferences.
If your child has not yet shadowed and would like to do so, Sturgis asks that you call to arrange a shadow before the end of March. Please do not hesitate to call the school at any time if you have questions.
