By Katie Curran, Editor-In-Chief As high school students, we lead busy lives with hectic schedules. We are finishing homework, heading to sports practice, spending time with family, studying for an upcoming test, participating in clubs and hanging out with friends. While it may appear that we are bustling around every second, we can ultimately change the world.
Have you ever wondered how you can change the world but don’t know where to start? The opportunities to branch out and make a difference are endless! Let’s get inspired with three ways to be a voice of change:
2.) Community service organizations such as the Sturgis East Key Club are a great place to start if you would like to work in a group setting. This is a great outlet for students looking to make a difference in the world with a supportive group of volunteers. The Sturgis East Key Club is always looking for new dedicated members! A group of peers encourages each other while creating collaborative change. This is also a great way to make new friends. Change can happen with you! 3.) Social media is another sure way to create awareness around causes you care about. Students around the country advocate for endangered animals, voter registration and student loan refinancing through Twitter and Facebook. Social media has the ability for others to learn about important causes, creating a wave of change in the community. While we are the next generation, we can make a difference today. High schoolers are a powerful force that can implement effective change to better the community. How will you change the world? |
