Jerry Curran, Editor-in-Chief
My name is Jerry Curran, and I am a senior at Sturgis East. I enjoy writing sports, current events and opinion articles for the Sturgis StormWatch. I am also a member of the Sturgis ROVers club, a group that studies marine biology and deploys deep sea robots to examine the ocean. In my free time, I play baseball as well as basketball. I have been studying Spanish for six years and I absolutely love it. Moreover, I am the Teen Director of ProjectNextGeneration.org, an international not-for-profit organization, where I mentor youth and do speaking engagements. I am so excited to be a part of the Sturgis StormWatch!

My name is Caroline Curran, and I am a junior. I absolutely love writing and have had articles published in both local and national publications. I am the co-founder and president of the Spanish Club, in which we often hold fundraisers for Spanish-speaking countries. I enjoy keeping up with current events and politics. In my spare time, I like to play the piano and flute. I am thrilled to be a member of the StormWatch team!
Hi everyone! My name is Rowan Wood, and I am so happy to be a part of the StormWatch staff! I am an avid writer of articles, prose and screenplays. In my spare time, I write, produce and direct short films, ride my bike around Cape Cod and hang out with my wonderful friends! I’ve been writing and creating for as long as I can remember, and I’m thrilled to be writing for StormWatch this year!
My name is Caitlin Nitschke and I am a junior at Sturgis East. I enjoy writing and reading as a pastime. I also love painting. One of my favorite things is music and playing my bass guitar. I am also a member of the sailing team and soccer team at Sturgis East. I joined the StormWatch because I appreciate the fun and educational atmosphere that it gives me to pursue journalistic writing.
My name is Grace Rizzuto. I am a junior at Sturgis East. I love to read, write and sketch in my free time, and I am a fan of music. I joined the StormWatch last year and loved the club’s atmosphere and my peers so much that I wanted to continue my journey. I also play field hockey and tennis. I found my passion for playing sports through my love of running and competing. I have made such great friends through participating in sports and other extracurricular activities. I am also a member of Spanish Club, where a group of students discuss hispanic language and culture, and I’ve been a girl scout for ten years.
My name is Ellen Murray, and I am currently a sophomore at Sturgis East. This year, I’m so excited to add the StormWatch to some of my other passions; I’m the president of the art club, I love learning about science, I act and do technical work with the Sturgis Theatre Arts Guild of Entertainers (STAGE), and I’m a Student Ambassador here at Sturgis. Outside of school, I dance ballet and participate in our annual Nutcracker performances. Joining the StormWatch team gives me a great opportunity to learn more about our school and community.
